L'abri

L'abri is French for the shelter, and that is roughly the idea. Judith Lateur has three open-plan self-catering units on one property inside the Oliphantskop Private Nature Reserve, on the quieter edge of Langebaan: The Loft, The Stonehouse and The Poolhouse. Each takes two people, so a family or a group of friends can take all three and still have their own front doors.

Every unit has a comfortable bed, its own en-suite bathroom, a kitchenette, Wi-Fi and braai facilities. Outside there is a pool, and around it the reserve, which is the reason to come: it is quiet in a way the middle of town is not, and the fynbos and the birds start at the door.

The lagoon, the beaches and the restaurants are a short drive away. It suits couples and anyone who would rather hear the wind than the road.
