Activities
Do what the locals do
Langebaan runs on fresh air. These are the free ones — groups that meet every week, and places you can simply walk into. No membership, nothing to book, just turn up.
Times can shift with the seasons and the wind. Always double-check on each group's page or WhatsApp before heading out, and know your own limits — especially in open water.
Langebaan parkrun
The free, timed 5km that everyone does — walkers, runners and buggies welcome. No dogs: it's a conservation area.
RunningRun, walk, RUN!
Turn up and run — or walk. Three afternoons a week, plus a longer one on Saturday mornings.
SwimmingSwim2gether
An open-water swim in the warm, flat lagoon, every morning off Main Beach.
FamilyDenlyn Park & Craft Market
A park to play in any day, and on the last Saturday of the month the whole town turns out for the craft market.
Main Beach
The town beach — the water shelves so gradually that children can wade a long way out.
Shark Bay
Where the kitesurfers ride. Worth an afternoon just to sit and watch the lagoon fill with kites.
Calypso Beach
Sheltered water backed by tall dunes, and the best beach in town for shell collecting.
