A two-hour ride out across Langebaan Lagoon in a boat that takes eleven people at most, skippered by Riaan. The Lagoon Explorer is the standard trip: away from the shoreline and out over the open water, then round the quieter edges of the lagoon past Shark Bay, Kraalbaai and Preekstoel, with a stop to step off onto the sand.
Private charters run the same two hours for a group of eight to eleven — a family day, a birthday, or simply your own people on board rather than whoever else has booked.
Adults are R400 and children under twelve R300, on either trip. Departures go in two-hour windows through the day, the first at 09:00 and the last finishing at 17:00. You ask for the window you want and Riaan confirms it against the weather and the water, so nothing is settled until he comes back to you — sending the enquiry is not the same as having a booking.
Times shift with the seasons and the wind. Always double-check directly before heading out, and know your own limits — especially in open water.
