About this
A three to four hour ocean safari out of the Mykonos marina, run by Langebaan Divers and Expert-Tours with the whale-watching permit holders. Boats take a maximum of ten guests, which is the whole point — everyone gets a view and a guide who can actually talk to them.
The season runs from mid-September to June. Humpback whales, orcas, dolphin superpods, seals, sunfish and seabirds are all on the cards, and the coastline out there — islands, seabird colonies, Table Mountain on the horizon — is worth the trip on its own.
Two things to know before you plan around it. Single bookings are from sixteen years upwards with a minimum of two people, so a family with younger children needs to charter the boat rather than book seats. And it is paid upfront, at the latest the day before you sail.
Times shift with the seasons and the wind. Always double-check directly before heading out, and know your own limits — especially in open water.
