A relaxed Thursday morning at the wool and haberdashery shop in the Bay Centre on Oostewal Road: two hours of stitching, chatting and making, whether you are starting from scratch or brushing off a skill you had years ago. R100 a class. Yarn and needles are not included, but you get 10 percent off your first in-store purchase for the class, and the shop carries the wool, patterns, hooks and accessories you will need — so you can pick everything up on the day. Spaces are limited, so book your place before you come.
The shop also runs a free social on Wednesday mornings, if you would rather bring your own project and just sit with people than be taught.
