Padel in Langebaan

Langebaan has five padel courts spread over three clubs, and none of them require you to be a member or a resident.

Club Mykonos has two courts at the Lifestyle Centre and the longest hours of anywhere in town for anything — 06:00 to 22:00 every day, holidays included. Langebaan Country Estate has two at 1 Goedehoop Street, open 07:00 to 21:00 Monday to Thursday, until 22:00 on Friday and Saturday and until 20:00 on Sunday. Villa Del Mare on Strand Street has one, open 08:00 to 19:00 through the week and until 16:00 on Sunday, alongside tennis, squash, a bowling green and a five-a-side field.

All three take bookings through Playtomic, the app most padel clubs use, which shows live availability and takes the payment. Four players to a court — but if you are short of players, look at the socials and Americanos on the same app: you sign up as an individual and are put into a group. Club Mykonos runs them from about R50, the Country Estate from about R150. If you would rather speak to somebody, the Mykonos Leisure Desk will book a court for you.

Padel is the easiest racquet sport to pick up cold: the walls are in play, the serve is underarm, and a complete beginner has rallies going within minutes. All three clubs hire out rackets, so there is nothing to bring.
