About this
A 1,460-hectare reserve of strandveld, renosterveld and West Coast savannah right beside the national park. The drive lasts about ninety minutes in an open vehicle and takes in seventeen species, Cape buffalo among them. Two departures a day, morning and late afternoon — the later one catches the better light. You can't take your own car in, and bookings are essential. There's a restaurant and bar with a deck for afterwards, archery lessons including a 3D course, and chalets and glamping if you decide to stay the night.
Times shift with the seasons and the wind. Always double-check directly before heading out, and know your own limits — especially in open water.
