About this
The park wraps around the lagoon on Langebaan's doorstep and is the single best reason to get out of town for a day. There are walking and mountain-bike trails, picnic sites, hides for birdwatching — it holds a great many species — and the beaches at Kraalbaai and Preekstoel. In August and September the Postberg section opens for the wildflowers, which is worth planning a trip around. Entry is by SANParks conservation fee at the gate.
Times shift with the seasons and the wind. Always double-check directly before heading out, and know your own limits — especially in open water.
