Tolhuis Langebaan

The Tolhuis calls itself “by the community, for the community”, and the building on Diamant Street lives up to it. It is the home of the Explore Langebaan Visitor Centre & Gift Shop, where you can ask about the town and pick up something made here, along with Tolhuis Home Industries & Gifts, local artwork, the D’NorTiCol clothing brand, and a coffee shop with something to eat.

It is also where a good part of the town’s volunteer work is based: Team Langebaan and its neighbourhood watch, Feed The Need, the fire reservists, Harbour of Hope, which supports people affected by gender-based violence, the Residents Association and the Community Police Forum. Langebaan Animal Care works from a facility here too.

The building itself is a heritage site. Drop in for the visitor information, stay for a coffee, and you will come away knowing more about how the town looks after itself. On Facebook they are “I am Tolhuis”.
