The ground-floor garden cottage on Shannon and Vanessa's Myburgh Park property, and the one to pick if you are bringing a dog. Two bedrooms sleep four — a queen in the main room, two three-quarter beds in the second — with a bathroom that has a proper tub and a separate toilet alongside.

The living space is open-plan: kitchen, dining table and lounge in one room, with an indoor braai built into the wall so a wet day doesn't cancel dinner. There is a second, gas braai outside in the paved courtyard. The yard is enclosed and has a patch of lawn, which is what makes the pet-friendly part real rather than nominal — guests write about their dogs having the run of it.

The whole place runs on backup power, so load shedding doesn't reach it. Check-in is by lockbox, so you can arrive when it suits you.
