Two bedrooms on the third floor, looking out over the palms and the main road to the lagoon beyond. The living room and dining table both face it, and the balcony gets the sun from midday until it goes down over the water.

The balcony has a gas braai and room to sit, which is where most guests seem to end up. Inside, a queen in one room and two singles in the other, one bathroom between them, a kitchen with a dishwasher, and a big TV with Netflix on it.

The position is the point: Main Beach, the restaurants, the rooftop bar and a large supermarket are all within a couple of minutes on foot, so the car can stay in the courtyard.

Two things worth knowing before you book. It is on the third floor and there is no lift, so the luggage comes up two flights. And there is no air conditioning — guests say the rooms warm up if the blinds are left open on a hot afternoon.
