Lagoon Sunsets
About this home
A contemporary three-level house built for a group that intends to stay put. The living and dining rooms open onto the cabana and the solar-heated pool, and the braai area is deliberately sheltered from the southeaster, which is the difference between a deck you use and one you look at.
Five bedrooms sleep ten, three of them looking over the lagoon. The master is on the top floor with a walk-in wardrobe and its own balcony; three more top-floor rooms open onto patios, two en-suite and two sharing a bathroom. The fifth is on the ground floor with its own entrance, which suits grandparents or a couple who want to come and go without crossing the house.
Downstairs there is a cinema with a projector and surround sound, a proper gym, and a games room with a pool table, table tennis and a bar. Upstairs there is a double-volume space set up for working. Full solar means load shedding passes the house by, a housekeeper comes five days a week, and a baby bath and cot can be arranged.
One thing the owners are upfront about, and so are we: there is a separate flat underneath the outdoor deck with its own entrance and small yard. It is permanently occupied by a tenant with a dog, and it is not part of what you book. You have the run of everything else.
