Red Bishop One

Red Bishop One is the luxury apartment of the four, and the most generous with space. One bedroom with a king-size bed and its own bathroom, opening onto an open-plan living area under a high white-brick wall, with a kitchenette and a breakfast bar off to one side.

The kitchenette is set up for self-catering rather than serious cooking — a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a two-plate gas hob, a kettle, crockery and cutlery. There is a smart TV with Netflix and free Wi-Fi. Outside the sliding door is a private patio with a table, chairs and a braai.

It sits on a property that backs onto a small wetland, which is where the name comes from: hundreds of red bishop birds nest there in spring, and the birdlife is the reason a lot of guests come back. Main Beach is about eight minutes' walk, with the shops, restaurants and coffee places in between.

The whole property is behind a motorised gate and a security fence, with off-street parking inside it. Linen and towels are supplied.
