A double-storey holiday home on Aldegronde Way inside Langebaan Country Estate, built for families and groups who want room to spread out. Four bedrooms sleep twelve, with three bathrooms and several separate living areas, so everyone can be together or off on their own.

It is a house that has clearly been set up for children. There is a bunk room with a climbing wall up one side, a games room with a multi-game table off the lounge, and a box of toys in the living room. The glassed-in balcony upstairs is the quiet counterweight: a desk with a view over the estate, a treadmill, and beds that fold out when the house is full.

The kitchen is a proper one, with a separate scullery and a washing machine. The house is fully air-conditioned and runs an inverter, so the essentials stay on through load shedding. Outside there are enclosed gardens front and back — the reason it suits families with small children — and a covered patio with a braai, a fire pit and deep seating for the evenings.

The estate is the other half of the appeal. The swimming pool is communal, shared with the rest of the estate rather than private to the house, and alongside it there is mini golf, tennis and padel courts, basketball and soccer, cycling trails and restaurants, all inside the security gate. Langebaan Main Beach is 2.4km away and the golf course is a four-minute walk.
